Born in Frankfurt in 1969, he is an illustrator based in Berlin and author of several books on drawing, technique and watercolor. Throughout his career he has illustrated more than fifty books and is a regular contributor to several prestigious newspapers, work that he combines with teaching. He has taught in Mainz, Hamburg and Jerusalem, and currently teaches illustration at the University School of Visual Arts in Münster.
Gracias a este trabajo ha ganado tres premios Award of Excellence de la Society for News Design. En cuanto a su trabajo como pintor, destacan las series Atlas, Anatomías, Vanitas y Venus.
