Pencil Blackwing Limited Edition Volume 574

The Blackwing Volume 574 pays homage to Native American art and the 574 tribes that use it as a form of cultural expression, identity, and resistance. For this special edition, Blackwing collaborated with Chris Pappan, an artist of Kaw, Osage, and Lakota descent, to create a design that evokes the geometric patterns present in many Native artistic expressions.

Each pencil is equipped with firm, hard graphite and represents a writing tool as well as a symbol of recognition and respect for a rich artistic tradition. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Cheyenne River Youth Project, which provides arts programs for Lakota youth on the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribal Reservation.
