The Blackwing 55 pencil is a tribute to the Golden Ratio and reminds us to slow down and appreciate the beauty of our surroundings. It features balanced graphite and a design inspired by the Fibonacci sequence, a series of numbers that approximates the Golden Ratio. The width of each color block is the sum of the previous two, starting with 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, and 55. Initially created in millimeters, the design was scaled to a ratio of 1:1,175 to fit the pencil canvas. It's a simple but striking formula with an extraordinary result.
