Jolgorio is the book by artist Brecht Evens, a visual and narrative feast that immerses us in a nocturnal city where the real and the imagined intertwine with the pulse of the party.
The story follows Jona, who decides to go out alone on the last night before moving out, and Rufo, the aging party king, who gets caught up in the hustle and bustle of summer. What begins as an innocent walk turns into an "insatiable adventure" in which the glittering streets envelop his characters in an uncontrollable need to get lost in the crowd.
Evens, winner of the Audacity Award at the Angoulême Comic Festival, creates a hypnotic work about the desire for connection, escape, and anonymity in the contemporary city.
