The Blackwing 710 is a tribute to Jerry Garcia, best known as the guitarist and singer of the Grateful Dead, but Jerry Garcia was much more than a musician. His home at 710 Ashbury Street was at the heart of the enlightenment and expression that pulsated through San Francisco in the 1960s.

Like his guitar playing, Jerry's sketches and paintings seem to meander across the canvas, taking unexpected turns before completely changing shape.

They show us that improvisation is not just for the stage, and that our ideas should not be limited by what is expected of us.

The Blackwing 710 is our tribute to Jerry Garcia and his fusion of visual and musical expression. A piece of his painting "Curves & Lines" is printed on each pencil, which features our soft graphite, ideal for both drawing and composing.
